It is well known that if your diet consists only in cheeseburgers and hot dogs, you’ll probably end up fat in just a few weeks. We know that being fat isn’t a pleasant thing.

But in fact, the human body needs fat to survive. A diet fat free will probably kill us in a matter of weeks. With that out of the picture, let’s talk about good and bad things about fat. I have to tell you that I’ve been fascinated by all the good things fat brings with it.

Fats transport oxygen to every cell in our body, and they are the basis for every hormone, brain, and nervous system function.

Fats are the chemically active part of our cell membranes. Without them, nothing works.

All fats are a mixture. The good fats contain small amounts of bad fat, and the bad fats contain small amounts of good fat.

With the wrong fats, you eat up to 6 times more in order to get the right fats.

The right fats protect you from cancer. The wrong fats allow it, in part because they compromise the integrity of the cell membrane.

Saturated fat is not all that good, but its not particularly bad, either. At least your body knows how to burn it for energy.

The bad fats result from high-heat commercial processing. They include trans fats, cross-linked fatty acids, double-bond shifted fatty acids, and dozens of other compounds that do not occur in nature.

Bad cell membrane function underlies insulin resistance and diabetes.

The cholesterol molecule is too big to be absorbed. Your body manufactures its own supply. It does so to shore up the structural integrity of weakened cell membranes.

Sources of bad fats include refined oils, partially hydrogenated oils, shortening, and commercially deep-fried foods.

Millions of years of evolution have left us unprepared to deal with these fats. Our body is unable to recognize them and deal with them. So they take the place of good fats in our cell membranes.

Because vegetable oil is chemically active, it is harmed the most by heat. Saturated fat is not much harmed by heating!

Sources of good fats come from fish, egg yolks, nuts, seeds, olives, durians, and unrefined oils from the health food store.

Even “cold pressed” oil can be heated before pressing, pumped full of caustic soda to remove the chemically active compounds, boiled to remove the caustic soda, and then steam distilled to remove the smell. Make sure your oils are unrefined. Extra-Virgin oils are also good. They escape the worst of it.

Here’s a small list of tips and tricks that will probably make your life a little healthier:

- Bottled unrefined oils spoil more quickly. But they’re good for you.

- Olive oil and sesame oil keep at room temperature.

- High omega-3 oils stay liquid in the freezer.

- Dip bread in unrefined oil. Use with vinegar for a salad dressing. Add to soup just before serving. Mix 1Tbs in a glass of water for “milk”.

You don’t want to cook with unrefined oils because they smoke really quickly.

For cooking, use butter, coconut oil, and other naturally saturated oils that aren’t harmed by heat. Butter, in particular, is a short-chain saturated fat that your body burns easily.

To put it briefly, education is the process of learning and acquiring information and skills. Education can take place in 2 main types: formal learning, usually in school or universities, and self-taught learning. Education is a very important part of our life, being the main tool with which we can learn basic life skills and also advanced job skills.

When we refer to education, we usually think about formal schooling. This chapter of our life begins when we are very young, and reaches until we completely mature. The first classes are not meant to teach us job skills, but rather to develop a sense of critical thinking in our everyday life, as well as for our further academic and career pursuits. Courses of math, literature, geography, physics, writing, history and such, are all common. In the primary grades, more basic skills such as reading writing and arithmetic are taught, making these early educational classes vital for survival in the world.

School can be continued for many years, especially if we decide to follow a form of higher education. The universities in the US provide special additional training and learning for a fee. For many professional careers, both a bachelor’s degree from a four-year accredited college institution and a master’s or graduate degree are required to prove qualification for the job.

Although having an MBA in marketing, for instance, is a very good thing, the world also needs people to do other types of endeavor. Whatever your plans of life may be, I guarantee that reading a book doesn’t hurt.

- For instance, if you want your children to stay in school most of the year, just send them in Norway. Education in Norway is mandatory for children between 6 and 16. The school year in Norway is the longest in the world. It runs from mid August to late June.
- Did you know that English speaking children are the world’s biggest novel readers – but the least enthusiastic comic readers.
- If we go a little to the East, we’ll discover that Japanese and South Korean kids are the best in the world at science and math.
- Three quarters of Japanese kids read comics.
- American adults have spent more time than anyone in education .
- There are 22 countries where more than half the population is illiterate. Fifteen of them are in Africa.
- The women of Iceland earn two-thirds of their nation’s university degrees.
- More than half of Indonesia’s primary school teachers are under 30years of age .
- Thinking of becoming a teacher? Head to Switzerland. Teaching salaries there start at $US 33,000.
- Kids in Mali spend only 2 years in school. More than half of them start working between the ages of 10 and 14.
- Teachers make up 7.8 percent of Iceland’s labor force – and they only have to teach 38 weeks per year.
- Central European men don’t teach. In Hungary, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia, over 75 percent of lower secondary teachers are female.
So, after all these funny facts, I hope that school won’t be so sober the next time we go to class.

I’m sure we all remember our childhood, when our parents almost begged us to eat vegetables. We didn’t want to listen. The only vegetable we ate was something called French fries. It tasted so good and it still does. The problem with it is that it doesn’t have that Vitamin D that we all need for our brain to function well.

Our body needs this vitamin for several functions, such as absorbing calcium and supporting communication from the brain through the nerves. Individuals ages 19 to 70 need 600 IU of vitamin D each day, according to the Office of Dietary Supplements from the National Institutes of Health. You can get vitamin D through food, such as fatty fish, as well as exposure to the sun. But if you do not get enough vitamin D, you can develop a deficiency, which can put you at risk for several problems involving the brain.

Here are 3 possible problems involving the lack of Vitamin D:

Multiple Sclerosis

Multiple sclerosis is a neurological condition in which the myelin sheath in your brain and spinal cord become damaged due to inflammation. The myelin sheath covers your nerve cells, and damage can affect normal communication between your brain and the rest of your body.

Stroke

If you suffer from a stroke, the blood supply in your brain becomes disrupted due to either a blood clot or a burst blood vessel. The symptoms you have with a stroke depend on which area of your brain becomes damaged. For example, if the visual areas of the brain become affected by the stroke, you may have double vision, decreased vision or a loss of vision, according to MedlinePlus.

Depression

A vitamin D deficiency can also increase your risk of a neuropsychological condition: depression. If you suffer from depression, you can have a low or irritable mood that does not lift. In addition to the mood changes, depression can also cause fatigue, changes in weight and sleep, concentration problems and altered physical movements. One subtype of depression, seasonal affective disorder, occurs during the fall and winter months for most people when they have less exposure to sunlight.

So be careful; if you still can’t or don’t want to eat vegetables, al least do some sunbathing.

This major part of the global warming problem has its roots on the petrol based motors that practically rule the world. Petrol driven motors ultimately produce gasses that eventually end up destroying the o-zone layer that protects our planet.

But this is about to change. Many car manufacturing companies turn their head to the hybrid motors or, more likely, the electric ones. There are many electric car, but in this article I’ve decided to talk about the world’s fastest car, the AC’s Propulsion tzero roadster.

It does 0 to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds, according to the company, and it does it on only 200 horsepower because of its light weight and torque.
The tzero has compared favorably in acceleration tests to Corvettes, Porsche 911s–and even a Ferrari F355, which it claims to have “out-accelerated…by eight car lengths” in one-eighth-mile drag races. If for nothing else, the tzero’s $220,000 sticker price puts it in exotic-car territory.

The low weight helps make the tzero so quick, but its torque is just as important, if not more. Conventional internal combustion engines need to rev to a certain rate before reaching their peak torque, but the tzero’s torque peaks instantly, with 183 ft-lbs. available from 0 to 5,000 rpm.

Indeed, the tzero can only go 280 to 300 miles at 60 mph without recharging–even if it can recharge on any 120- or 240-V power socket. And if you accelerate it like an Italian exotic, or even take it on a hilly route, that range can decrease by up to about 20%.

Remember, though, this is more of an experiment than a traditionally appointed car. The tzero does not come with air-conditioning. And to lower its top and windows, you detach them and store them in the trunk. Talk about alternative energy expenditures

Most of us know the common fruits(apples, bananas, pineapples, peaches, strawberries and so on) and of course, we like them.

But you would you feel if you’d try one of this fruits bellow?

Kiwano Melon or African Horned Melon – This spiny little fruit has a bright orange and yellow skin with a green and yellow pulp inside. The Kiwano Melon has a sweet yet tart flavor that tastes something like a banana, lime, and cucumber mix. It is native to southern Africa, but many are now grown in New Zealand and parts of California.

Durian – Durian is a southeast Asian fruit that can get up to 12 inches long and 6 inches in diameter. The color of the husk ranges from green to brown, with the flesh is red or pale yellow depending on the species. The odor of the opened fruit is so strong that it has led to the banishment of the fruit in some public places and hotels in throughout southeast Asia. Durian in mostly used to flavor sweets and desserts in southeast Asia.

Pitaya or Dragon Fruit – It is believed to have come from South America, and features beautiful flowers. The fruit has a bright red color, but some species are a light pink. The skin is a rind, and is usually covered with scales ( hence thename dragon fruit). The center of the fruit consists of a white or red sweet-tasting pulp. Dragon fruit is used in many desserts, making jam, and as an additive for cocktails.

Jabotacaba – This strange fruit grows in tropical areas such as South America, especially Brazil. The fruit looks very similar to black olives and grows on the branches of the tree, not on stems like typical fruit. Jabotacaba is often used in making jellies, jams, and wine.

Monstera Deliciosa – Despite this draconian name, believe it or not, it is a real plant. The Monstera Deliciosa is a tropical plant that comes from southern Mexico and Panama. It is used more as a house plant than an edible plant, but its culinary uses are highly known. Monstera is a vigorous climbing vine with thick stems and heart-shaped leaves sometimes up to 2 feet wide. It has a rather pungent odor that emits as the kernels ripen and pop off; once they do the sweet pineapple-like flesh can be consumed. The blooms remind me of a giant Peace Lilly bloom.

Paw Paw – This for all the American people. I bet few of you know that Paw Paw is the largest edible fruit in America. It grows on a deciduous tree that ranges in length from 12 to 20 feet. It has a rather big fruit, compared to the daily apple, and it can weigh from 5 to 16 ounces. It can grow up to 6 inches in diameter. The larger versions can become very plump, similar to a mango. A ripe Paw Paw has a thin skin and becomes soft.

So, the next time you eat a juicy peach, think about all the strange and delicious fruits the world has to offer. I wonder how a Monstera Deliciosa pie would taste like.

I remember my childhood had a very strange question that I never got to answer: If bananas don’t have any seeds, how do they grow? Along with this article, me, myself and I found the answer to my age old question.

All across the world, there are almost 1,000 species of banana today. Most of them are inedible – they carry hard pea-sized seeds, and have only a small amount of bad-tasting flesh. The botanists think that about 10,000 years ago, probably in South-East Asia, a random mutation produced a sterile banana with no seeds and lots of flesh that could be eaten uncooked. The internal dark lines and spots inside today’s banana are the vestigial remnant of these seeds.
The edible farmed banana has no seeds. So how do we get new bananas? The answer is rather a simple one: they take cuttings from the existing banana plant. New banana “trees” are “born” in a new location when the shoots of cuttings are planted in the ground, and take root successfully.

The cycle starts with an underground stem, or root, often meters across, that can have several banana “trees” growing from it. Each of these so-called “trees” started from an underground “bud”. A “bud” is something that will push up a shoot, which breaks through the soil. The shoot is made of leaves, wrapped tightly around each other, so that it looks like a green tree trunk – even though there is no wood present. The oldest leaves are on the outside, with the newest leaves pushing upward through the middle.

When the time is right, the underground stem switches from making leaves, to making an “inflorescence”, which makes flowers, and subsequently, fruit. The inflorescence has a broad leaf-like structure that wraps around a hand of flowers, which ultimately turn into bananas. The final “tree” can be up to 6 meters tall, with bunches of 50-150 individual fruits or “fingers” of bananas, broken up into hands of 10-20 bananas each.

Even though it is sterile, we still can consider the banana as being a fruit and sure, we can still eat as much as we want, because they’re healthy, as well.

She has an astounding height of 203 cm, meaning more that 6 ft 8 in.

She is originally from Oakland and is currently in the midst of a worldwide tour packed with interviews, photo shoots, and client visits that leave her exhausted, bruised, and totally stoked.

Eve majored in theater in college, and after that worked as a paralegal, but the position drained her creativity and added the pounds. Looking for a way out, she started an ambitious workout regime, telling herself, “Supermodel or bust!” Quickly, however, she grasped that she would never achieve runway-thin frailty. “I can never be small and I can never be weak,” she said.

So Eve became a personal trainer. In the long gym hours, she was introduced to a woman working as a pro domme. She tried it herself, but quickly realized that it didn’t want to wear that skimpy leather costume. She said that she doesn’t like floggers, whips, and cuffs. So Eve started to take martial arts and wrestling classes and found her own fetish niche.

Now, most of Eve’s sessions are spent lifting and carrying her male clients, or performing a series of height comparisons. In the little spare time that she has, she plays out with wrestling, boxing, and physical domination. Typically her clients are “small” guys (less than 5-feet, 8 inches) who are educated, professional, and located all over the world. They often pay for her to fly to them. When she walks into the room, they bow. “Amazon women like me are rare, and the guys who like us are plentiful. It’s like a built-in celebrity”, says Amazon Eve.

Ginger (JIN-ger) is a product that is made from the plant Zingiber officinale Roscoe. Products made from plants are often called botanicals or herbals.

Ginger has been used by many people for the prevention and treatment of nausea and vomiting caused by motion sickness. It has also been used to prevent nausea and vomiting that may occur after surgery. While some people have found it beneficial, studies supporting this use are not good enough to prove that it is effective. No serious side/adverse effects have been reported.

Although ginger has been used in folk medicine to treat a number of other conditions, there have not been any studies to support these uses and they cannot be recommended by USP advisory panels.

Ginger has a long history of use, but only a few studies on ginger have been done in humans. Little is known about its specific effects and its interactions with medicines. Because of this lack of information, use of ginger to treat problems in children and pregnant or breast-feeding women is not recommended.

If you have a serious medical condition, you should check with your health care professional. Some conditions should not be treated with botanical or herbal products.

A lot of people think that the panda bear is a little, fluffy, black & white, friendly bear. But the facts tell as that the truth is not that friendly.

The Giant Panda, as the specie is formally named is an endangered omnivore mammal, that can live up to 20 years in the wild. It can weigh up to 300 lbs(136 kg) and its size can be related to a 6 ft man.

Most of the videos that we see about pandas are showing the bear having a feast, with its hind legs stretched before it and sitting in a very relaxed posture. That is because they have an insatiable desire for food, especially for bamboo sticks, but they won’t say no to birds or rodents. That may suggest that they are sedentary animals, but looks may deceive. The pandas are very good climbers and very efficient swimmers. Almost half of the day, the pandas eat. In this 12 hour period it is likely to ingurgitate over 30 lbs of bamboo to satisfy its daily needs.

Wild pandas live only in China, especially on the Central Mountain Range, also known as the Chungyang Range, full of wet and cool forests, exactly as the bears like it. Panda climb as high as 13000- 14000 ft(4000- 4300m) on summer, in search of low temperature.
Sadly, there are only about one thousand giant pandas left in the wild. Only the most fortunate Zoos keep such kind of animals. All over the world, there are approximately 100 panda bears living in captivity and the Zoo keepers say it is not an easy thing to breed pandas.

Let’s hope for the better.

New York City is the biggest city in the USA, and the 3rd largest in the world. It has approximately 8 million inhabitants. It is located on the East Coast of the United States.

Although it is a national symbol, the city flourished because of the Dutch sailors, who came in the 17th century. Because of that, New York City was first named New Amsterdam, that served as the capital of New Netherland.

From 1789 to 1790 it briefly served as the capital of the United States. Not many people know that Broadway, that is officially named Highway 9, is one of the longest streets in the world, measuring approximately 150 miles, the equivalent of 241 km.

The famous Central Park has a bigger area than the State of Monaco.

The New York City Subway system is the 3rd biggest in the world, if we refer to the year it was built on(1904), preceded only by London(1863) and Paris(1900). It has a huge amount of riders, serving a number of 1.3 billion people every year. It is the 2nd largest subway system in the world, measuring 230 miles(371 km), preceded by London, which has a total of 257 miles(415 km).

Maybe the most emblematic symbol of New York, and probably of the entire United States is the Statue of Liberty. Few people know that the statue, a neoclassical sculpture, stands as a gift to the American people, courtesy of the French society. It stands on Liberty Island from October 28, 1886, and it represents Libertas, the Roman goddess of freedom. It has a total of 305 ft (95m), from which 151 ft (46m) are the actual statue.
