I’m a little confused about this “interesting fact.” It is stated that of all species only dolphins and humans have sex for pleasure. This gives the impression that, among the remaining species, sex is just a way of procreation. Why then, would bats engage in homosexual activity? Doesn’t this eliminate the justification of “non-pleasurable” sex altogether?

I agree with you. I saw 2 turtles having sex and both were looking like enjoying a lot. I think even the plants enjoy productive activity.
What about bonobo monkeys? They have homo and heterosex several times a day as well as masterbate. They obviously have sex for pleasure.
