Some people consider strawberries as a symbol of Venice, the Goddess of Love.
The ancient Romans believed that strawberries alleviated symptoms of melancholy, fainting, all inflammations, fevers, throat infections, kidney stones, bad breath, attacks of gout, and diseases of the blood, liver and spleen.
There is a museum dedicated to strawberries in Belgium.

Just passing by and wanted to let you know about a few corrections about your strawberry facts: There are approximately 600 strawberry growers, shippers and processors in California. Regarding acreage, California is the largest producer of strawberries with nearly 38,000 acres. Thanks for posting strawberry facts!
