Samsung has started 3D TVs production

South Koreans from Samsung have announced that they have started 3D TVs production, and this year they expects to sell over 2 million units.

Samsung is the first TV producer who began producing 3D TVs. South Koreans currently producing three types of TVs: of 40 (101 cm), 46 (116 cm) and 55-inch (139 cm). All three models are based on 3D Active Glass technology , the current standard in the field.

We expect demand for 3D TVs to grow explosively. Samsung expects sales of over 2 million units this year, said Sueohk Shim, Samsung vice president.

The TVs will have a refresh rate of 240 Hz, and the response time will be less than 4 milliseconds. 3D TVs sales will reach a level of 64 million units in 2018, according to research firm DisplaySearch.
