The most densely populated metropolis in the world is the main island of Hong Kong.
Its population density of about 250,000 people per square mile (97,000 people per square kilometer) is almost double that of Lagos, Nigeria, the second densest city.
Hong Kong has achieved many distinctions, including that of being the 8th largest economy in the world, despite a population of only six million people!
